22 ounce bottle into a chalice. Bottled 9/15/16, had 1/1/17.
Pours a dark ruby amber, somewhat opaque, with a short head and little lacing. The aroma is malt, plums, dates, figs, rum, Belgian yeast, raisins, light cherries, a light general spiciness. Smells pretty damn good. The taste also starts with the malt, then plums, cherries, some figs, rum, oak, raisins, light caramel, a sweet note on the finish. Really good. Smooth, a good body, but not as full as many for the style, an appropriate level of carbonation.
The rum barrels are outstanding, with a very appealing flavor and aroma. Another solid effort from Imperial Oak.
