12 ounce can into a snifter. 2019 edition, aged in Heaven Hill barrels. Released 3/16/19, had 10/1/19. Also had on tap. Replacing rating only from 2017 tap only version.
Pours dark brown, opaque, with a brief flash of a head, some light, spotty cling. Aromas of bourbon, coffee, roasted malt, vanilla, chocolate, cocoa, toffee, some char and tobacco. Similar flavors- bourbon, vanilla, coffee, roasted malt, some chocolate, some char and tobacco, light caramel, some licorice as it warms. Smooth, a good full body, appropriately carbonated.
The barrels star, the coffee and vanilla shine. Lots of great aromas and flavors. The body could be a little fuller, but it’s good as is. Really enjoyable.

Lighter brownish black body, no head. Smells of coffee, vanilla, dark chocolate, brighter bourbon and cream. Taste had a great combo in the coffee, dark fudge, and vanilla cream, but it felt separated from the bourbon and malts. Hides some of the depth of the regular ba version. That being said nice coffee stout all around. Medium bodied and creamy.
