22oz bomber bottled 07/21/17 234/360

Poured into a pint glass and boasts a deep, dark, mahogany brown body only allowing light at the very edge. Above the murk floats a thin cap of tight little brown bubbles that disippates to nothing but a few swirls and spotted lacing runs down the glass on long legs.

The aroma is fronted with bourbon and all that comes with it including oak, booze, vanilla, leather as it warms and maybe a hint of something that could be port wine, but I doubt it. I just can't id it as grape, or tawny.

The flavors match nicely with bourbon booze up front on a clean non-adjunct porter with roast malts keeping it from being sweet or too boozy.

Mouthfeel is killer. Solid medium feel and perfect smoothness matched with a clean, almost drying finish and a slight booze after taste.

Overall a great example of the style. Share with friends and finish with a cigar.

22 ounce bottle into a snifter. Bottled 7/21/17, had 8/5/17. Aged one year in Dad’s Hat bourbon barrels that once held port.

Pours dark, opaque and oily looking, with a short head and some spotty lacing. Aromas of port, malt, chocolate, light bourbon, oak, grapes, toffee, some plums, light molasses. The taste is port, bourbon, malt, oak, caramel, grapes, some chocolate and molasses, light vanilla. Smooth, a good medium to full body, well carbonated but a little fizzy.

Big aromas and flavors, love the port and the subtle bourbon. Really enjoyable, a big effort from IO.
