Crowler poured into a pint glass shows an inky-black body briefly floating a 1/4in head of chestnut brown fluffy bubbles and leaving a clean glass behind.
Aroma is malt dominant with a roasty emphasis. Taste matches and the lighter, medium feel makes for easy drinking.
Overall a tasty, dark beer. Enjoy with fish, bbq, sandwiches, and even a nice, clean, balsamic dressed salad.

16 ounce can into a pilsner glass. Had 3/17/21.
Pours near black and opaque, with a one and a half inch foamy head with decent retention and a fair amount of foamy cling. Aromas of roasted malt, chocolate, some caramel as it warms, a little smoke. Chocolate, malt- doesn’t taste as roasted as it smelled, some herbal and floral hops, light caramel. Smooth, a good medium body, well carbonated.
Very good example of the style, the malt really stands out. The hops almost make it taste like an export stout, which is a nice twist. Very enjoyable.

Taste: smooth creamy mouthfeel, chocolate toasted malts, silky nitro finish. Milky slight sweet malt nose. Black/Reddish hue, mostly opaque, nice refined nitro head and soft creamy lattice on glass. Medium to Med/Light body. Very easy lager to drink and would pair well with many dishes. 28 IBUs
