22oz bottle #079/276 dated 2/15/18
Poured into a snifter shows a cola brown color allowing an reddish-orange tinged light at the edge and floats a disippating cap of smallish pecan colored bubbles and spotted lacing with legs.
Aroma is rum, rum, and a little rum with hints of oak, vanilla, leather, tobacco, and stone fruits. The rum is enticing and alluring, but unfortunately I don't remember the base beer, and it might matter. The flavor matches. An initial sweetness broadens out as the warms, but there is a sweet spot between 55° and 60° or so. After that it is more bitter and yeasty.
Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy and cleanly clears the pallette.
Overall a complex beer and very nice.

22 ounce bottle into a tulip snifter. Bottled 2/15/18, had 3/2/18. Aged one year in Jamaican rum barrels.
Pours dark brown, mostly opaque and kind of oily looking, with a short, quickly dissipating head and some oily spotting on the glass. Aromas of rum, chocolate, malt, figs, dates, oak, raisins, cocoa, some caramel and vanilla, light Belgian yeast. Smells great. The taste is rum, roasted malt, chocolate, raisins, caramel, some oak and vanilla. Light alcohol. Smooth, a solid medium to full body, well carbonated.
Also had on tap at release, like the bottle better. Wonderful rum barrels, and although it’s barrel forward, the rum isn’t overwhelming. Great aroma, very good flavor. I like the base beer a lot too, a really good example of a Belgian stout. Very enjoyable.
