Cloudy black body with a ring of tan bubbles up top and lacing on the glass. Smell features orange, vanilla, apple brandy, chocolate malt, and an unfortunate menthol aroma. Taste is boozy apple brandy up front with licorice, then a creamy wave of vanilla and orange round out the profile. Smooth and creamy body, apple brandy masked much better than original

12 ounce can into a tulip snifter. Canned 12/14/18, had 5/8/19. Also had on tap. Aged in Copper & Kings apple brandy barrels, with cocoa nibs, vanilla beans and orange zest.
Pours a mostly opaque dark brown, with a half inch foamy head and some foamy lacing. Aromas of apple brandy, chocolate, vanilla, malt, raisins, dates, toffee, some oak, faint citrus, some prunes. The flavors are mostly the same- apple brandy, chocolate, vanilla, malt, prunes, light molasses and char, some figs, faint citrus. Smooth, a good medium to full body, well carbonated.
Great barrels and the add- ins work well with them, especially the vanilla, so that it’s not as brandy dominant as the straight BA. Solid base beer, too. Very enjoyable.
