12 ounce can into a snifter. Canned 1/17/19, had 3/8/19. Aged in Buffalo Trace Rye Whiskey barrels.
Pours near black and opaque, with a half inch quickly dissipating head and a good amount of soapy cling. Aromas of malt, rye whiskey, chocolate, vanilla, cocoa, toffee, dates, raisins, some smoke, light tobacco and char. Flavors of rye whiskey, chocolate, malt, toffee, raisins, dates, caramel, cocoa, toffee, some tobacco, a little oak. Smooth, a very good full body, well carbonated.
Excellent barrels, great aroma. Fairly straightforward, but well executed. Another solid effort from IO.

Dark black body with some off-black lacing on the surface. Rye Whiskey picked up immediately on the nose, but no burn, with dark cocoa, wood, coffee, and molasses. Taste was barrel heavy, but in a good way, with the whiskey, rye, and wood giving character and depth to the porter, with dark roast coffee, bittersweet chocolate, molasses, and leather all supporting. Great texture and depth for a porter in the feel. Another winner from imperial oak. The wife liked it
