12 ounce can into a tulip snifter. Canned 1/17/19, had 7/18/19. Replaces an earlier on tap rating only.
Pours a dark brown, opaque, with a half inch foamy head and light foamy lacing. Aromas of roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, coconut, rye whiskey, some oak and tobacco, cocoa, light caramel, a bit of a nutty aroma. Smells great. Flavors of rye whiskey, malt, chocolate, vanilla, coconut, a stronger nutty flavor than the nose, cocoa, some oak and tobacco, light char, caramel as it warms. Smooth, somewhat creamy, a very good full body, well carbonated.
The coconut really shows well and the pecans have a solid supporting role. They kick the regular BA version up a notch. Excellent barrels that lead but don’t overwhelm. Great aromas and flavors. Really enjoyable.
