12 ounce can into a snifter. Released 2/23/19, had 7/1/19.
Pours near black and opaque, with a one and a half inch foamy head with good retention and some foamy lacing. Aromas of port, wine, malt, light bourbon, oak, char, chocolate, grapes, light Belgian yeast, a bit of a tart aroma. Flavors of malt, port, some bourbon, chocolate, some wine, oak, grapes, faint Belgian yeast, a hint of cherries. A little tart, has a light malt bitterness. Smooth, a very good light to medium body, well carbonated on the high side
Great barrels that favor their port heritage, lots of aromas and flavors, nicely balanced between the barrels and the base beer. Very enjoyable.

Midnight black with almost no head save a tiny tan ring. Smell is booze to the face: bourbon, port, barrel must, wood, and general alcohol. Knew from this the taste was not going to be much better, and in fact it was worse, grape must and funk, port booze, tons of robust wood, bourbon that takes on a rustic whiskey flavoring, dry bitters, char, and roasted malt make up this boozy disaster. Feel is boozy, hot, and more boozy. Drain pour
