12 ounce can into a snifter. Released 6/29/19, had 10/21/19. Also had on tap.
Pours yellow orange, a little hazy, with a quarter inch foamy head and sparse, foamy film. Aromas of Belgian yeast, some cognac, apples, light malt, light funk, a little bourbon and lemon, light cherries as it warms. Flavors of Belgian yeast, malt, some bourbon, apples, lemon, some biscuit, light cognac, light cherries as it warms. Smooth, a little dry, a very good light to medium body, well carbonated.
Not sure I’ve described this well, but it’s very good. The barrels definitely held some of that bourbon when emptied, so it made for an interesting mix with the cognac. Solid base tripel, the barrels are prominent, but don’t overwhelm.
