Pours a dark shiny black color. Thin brown head forms on the beer before dissipating.
Aroma has notes of roasted malts, light char, bourbon, oak, cognac, tobacco.
Taste follows the nose with notes of roasted malts, tobacco, charred notes, bakers chocolate, oak, bourbon and cognac. The underlying stout is big, roasty and hoppy, but most importantly its big enough to withstand the double barrel aging.
Feel is thinner, smooth, silky. Moderate carbonation. A touch of heat on the finish.
A really nice barrel aged imperial stout from Imperial Oak

12 ounce can into a snifter. Released 6/5/21, had 6/26/21.
Pours a dark brown, opaque, with no head and a few specks of cling. Aromas of bourbon, malt, oak, char, chocolate, some cognac, some vanilla, light tobacco. Much more cognac pops in the flavor, then chocolate, malt, bourbon, oak, vanilla, a little tobacco. Smooth, a solid full body, appropriately carbonated.
The cognac barrels shine in the flavor, the bourbon barrels are steady throughout. Strong base stout, lots of good aromas and flavors. Winner.
