12 ounce can into a snifter. Released 12/18/20, had 12/20/20.
Don’t know how I missed checking this in at the time. Was very good, but I would have liked the Oppidan Spirits Ex-Islay Scotch Bourbon barrels to stand alone, instead of being blended with more bourbon barrels.

2020 release.
12oz can poured into a taster glass, repeatedly. A crystal clear copper colored, headless body leaves the glass clean behind.
Aromas include a bright and sugary stone fruit, apricot maybe, smoke, and oak.
The taste has a strong ash component coating the sugary fruit, smoke, and barrel. No booze warmth to the palate or throat, however some head warming is imagined. It is as if I am willing the warmth I expect from the smoke and ash. Interesting. The scotch barrel notes do exhibit themselves through the nose just at the swallow while still chilled. More ash than peat, yet also a clear earthiness. It really opens up with warmth, going from fruity to earthy.
Lighter medium feel.
Overall an interesting experience.
