12 ounce can into a snifter. Released 2/4/22, had 4/28/22.
Pours near black and opaque, with a one and a half inch head of darker foam and some foamy lacing. Aromas of roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, light blueberry- much more as it warms, light rye whiskey, light caramel, a spicy aroma. Flavors of rye whiskey, roasted malt, blueberry, chocolate, oak, vanilla. Has a spicy flavor and a light tartness. Smooth, a little creamy, a very good full body, well carbonated.
Strong barrels, lots of roast, it’s as good as this year’s straight BA version. But for whatever reason, the blueberries- which are aromatic and tasty, just don’t work all that well for this. But it remains very enjoyable.
