This is home brewer Joe Skiles’ recipe that won best in show at the Brixie’s Brewers Home brew Club’s annual Brixtoberfest Home brew competition. Kentucky Common is a historical beer style produced in the Louisville area after the Civil War up until Prohibition. It is a light brown beer with a complex malt flavor, including notes of caramel, toasted bread, and a light floral hop character. It is brewed with a good amount of corn to keep the beer light in body.
