Hmm. I wasn’t maybe in the right mood to appreciate this.
Kinda opaque…surprising. Deep honey color.
It’s got a mediumly (made that word up) boozy note that I’m not loving.
But the flavor is really good. Pretty balanced: not too sweet, but a little bit; not too boozy, but a little.
Body is dense, rich; good esters; maintains enough smoothness.
It’s a rich beer. Kinda heavy. Wish it leaned in a specific direction; it’s just so right down the middle.
But, hey; cheers to an American brewery going after one of the best styles in the entire world. We do need to save the world from lesser styles.
