Poured a clear, reddish orange color with a small, one-finger head of foam. It smelled of raspberry jam, salt and caramel. Nice sweet and sour notes from the raspberry. Good salty bite.

this was one of the beer surprises of the month for me, what an awesome little beer from a brewery i literally know nothing about. a delicious gose style with raspberries, it has to be one of the better fruited takes on this style i have come across. huge crayon red color from the fruit, almost not real. it smells tangy, in equal parts from the raspberries (which almost have a cranberry component to them, tart and pithy), and from the lacto, which is sharp enough to cut the jammy (yet authentic) sweetness of the fruit without making this too sour to crush on. tart but not stupidly acidic, cleaner than it seems like it should be, puckery and mouthwatering, but approachable and sexy too. i love the depth of flavor, nice use of salt here, really accentuates the berries, which are heavy all the way through. the wheat base is nice too, a little extra body to support the bolder flavors, and an oddly snappy finish for what else is going on in this one. for a brewery i have never heard of, this is astoundingly good, and if you told me someone like allagash or rare barrel or whomever was responsible for this, i would totally believe it. its one of the better fruited gose beers out there right now, i wish they would package this, its really tremendous. a highlight of the summer for me, yummy!
