This pours a rich, cloudy lemon-yellow with very little carbonation and a fine trace of head around the perimeter of my pint glass.
Some sour scents and a very faint note of smoke. It smells like a lemon meringue that's really toasty on top.
This is a sweet beer. The honey gave me a great kick right up front. There's some bitterness toward the back. Mainly I'm tasting clover honey, bananas, some coriander, and a little herbiness (sage? rosemary?). I can't detect any smoke while drinking it, but the phenols are noticeable.
Despite the heavy-handed sweetness, this is a very drinkable beer. I wish, though, that it had more smokiness to it.

Not a smoked beer. Says smoked on the label, but only a slight smokiness on the finish. Definitely a belgian strong pale, or something else.
Pours a nice golden color, with very minimal head. Hazy deep golden, almost orange.
Smell is muted on the smoke. I guess I can tell it's there. But wow, lots of honey. Fairly sweet smelling. Lots of honey, lighter fruit esters, banana, some clove.
Taste follows the nose. Banana and honey are fairly prevalent. The finish cuts the sweetness a little with a slight smokiness. As the beer lingers on the tongue, the smoke comes out more. It's smokey sweet. Good take on a blonde ale. Just a little sweet, not overly sweet.
Mouthfeel is fairly rich and creamy, but this lacks the same carbonation found in a true belgian.
Overall it is a good beer. The more of it I drink, the more I warm up to it. It's definitely not a smoked beer though.
