Appearance - The beer poured a rich black color with a 10 head crowning the top of the class.
Smell - The beer had a solid vanilla nose, though it was more a darker roast vanilla than a sweet vanilla.
Taste - My first thought was that this is a rice crispy treat dipped in dark chocolate. If you are looking for a sweet vanilla, you will not find it here. The roasty nature of the oatmeal stout gives us a darker rather than a sweet feel.
Mouthfeel - Carbonation was noted no not over the top. The overall beer had a good body.
Overall - There was a part of me that forgot what an oatmeal stout was like. Not being overly sweet, this was a good one.
