Saint Benjamin Brewing Co. "Kumpelbier Maibock"
on tap at the brewery on 21 May 2016
$3/8 oz.

Kumpelbier, or "buddy beer" offers everything a Maibock should without compromise. It's a clear deep gold/amber beneath a frothy head of white that holds well and leaves some very nice lacing behind. The aroma is malty, specifically displaying rich, sweetly grainy Munich malt. The flavor offers the same, adding in some spicy, floral, and herbal hops for balance and depth. There's a little bit more body to it than a regular beer (medium-full leaning full), and a little more strength at 6.3% ABV, yet it remains remarkably drinkable. Nicely done!
