A low-calorie full flavored IPA lower in calories & carbs than most light beers (90 calories, 2g carbs). Bright tropical & citrusy hops with a clean finish.

Taster at brewery. Hazy pale golden pour with a light foamy head. Aroma is light ctrus peel. Taste is more fruity, citrus flavors, a bit subdued and light on the palate. This is nice session beer.

Picked this up recently at Joe Canal's in Woodbridge as I hadn't had anything from Spellbound in quite some time. I wasn't sure what to expect from a beer with such low alcoholic content and after sipping this, that's still the case. Sure, this was fun and easygoing, but shouldn't this be called a Pale Ale given it's relaxed nature?
This had a melon hue to it that was translucent, with a moderate head that subsided rather quickly. A good amount of lacing was left behind as I sipped this, although there weren't any rings that stood amount among the sheet. Lots of lemon, tangerine, earthiness, and soap in the subdued nose as the taste followed suit. Plenty slick, a bit tangy, and softly hopped, this was beer but didn't quite feel like it because it's lack of overt heft. Some jack fruit and lime emerged in the back, as they enlivened a brew that needed all the flavor that it could get!
The carbonation and body were fine but this almost felt as much a soda as it did a malted barley beverage. No date was printed anywhere on the can but this felt fine and without any signs of aging or sediment in the liquid. Love the label and the hint of white chocolate that stuck around in my glass after I finished this off but overall, this left a lot to be desired. Fun for a session or those times when a brew is not the last order of the day.
