Festive brown ale.
A: Deep burgundy red with a one inch tan head that was slight and creamy in nature. Steady on the hold there was a spacious rise of carbonation. A full encircling thin band of lacing adores the vessel. Overall a very nice reddish brown color upon the exit of the can.
S: Sweet caramelized malt and cherries on the nose, smooth aroma with a sweet touch of figs. Small touch of fresh cut apple fruit, sweet brown betties and a slight creamy coffee presence. Toffee and raisins round out a flavorful nose with some coco-almond.
T: The flavor was sweet and masterfully blended of coffee-ish brown malt and toasty caramel. Background hints of soft campfire ash, fresh coffee and toasted toffee sweetness. Toasted oak, hazelnut and figs mirror the nose. Flashes of cherries and some semi-dry pear fruitiness.
M: Full body, softly carbonated, light dry toasted touch on the tongue.
O: I always enjoy a good brown ale, a style mostly overlooked in today's atmosphere of hops are everything. A wide spectrum of rich, roasty and sweet flavors of, toffee, coffee, and black cherries with some cocoa-almond notes make for a complex and smooth flavorful experience.
