Meet Stoner Duck, a professor of easy living and smooth vibes who holds a PHD in Biochemistry. Spending sunny days rapping with fellow “doctors” on the Venice boardwalk and his evenings in the lab, he has perfected this easy drinking, nut-brown ale with just the right dosage of organic hemp. It has a backbone of caramel and toasted malts with a touch of chocolate, complimented by fresh American hops and a mild tea-like aroma from the addition of hemp seeds. The doctor is in.

Poured into a shaker pint. Pours a dark mahogany brown with a half finger khaki head with good retention and lacing. Mild aroma of dark toasted malt, cocoa, mildly nutty. Flavor is semi-sweet dark toasted malt, cocoa, nuts and a lightly earthy flavor from the hemp seeds. Medium bodied with light creaminess. This was a very enjoyable, full bodied brown ale. The base brown ale malt is spot on, with good roasted, but not charred character and nice cocoa notes. There is a pleasant earthy note from the hop seeds that really blend with the malts and seem a perfect addition to this style. The label seemed a little gimmicky as was the addition of hemp seeds, but I'm sold on the combination; this is one of the better brown ales I've had. Nicely done. I will look for this again.

Nutty, Toasty, Roasty, Grassy
This is a brown brew with red hues and a creamy tan head with nice lacing. Bready and nutty in the nose, Stoner Duck is smooth and creamy on the palate with some toast, roast, chocolate and caramel. The beer also has a raw grassy flavor and some mild astringency from the hemp. Drying nuttiness in the finish. My take? A Nut Brown Hemp Ale is so ‘90s microbrew.

Name on the bottle is Stoner Duck Nut Brown Hemp Ale.
Pours a dark brown with nice large bubble but pretty firm khaki head that lasts a bit.
Nose is a light brown nose, assertive in light creamed and sugared coffee; hints of cocoa and hints of fudge.
Mouth feel is medium/light with decent carbonation but there is definitely a watered down character in the mouth feel.
Flavor profile is pretty simple and one note. Bitter roasted grain, sort of like a bitter but lower quality coffee. This is not a bad beer; it's just not a good one either.
