Thanks to Ben for this 16 oz. can, my first taste of this brewery I’ve never heard of before. Split with my wife as I watch my Twins finally beat the Royals in KC. What a beautiful stadium.
The pour is an opaque, sodden light yellow. Looks thick. Nose is honeydew & yellow melon drizzled with sugar. Sugar. NE IPAs always with the sugar.
Double Edged Sword – just another NE IPA. Following the nose there is honeydew, melon, with the addition of a healthy helping of sweet citrus, sugar, with an echo of bitterness that isn’t enough to stop the sweet assault. Grainy. Glad I am consuming only half this can.
If there’s a Microsoft Template for NE IPAs, this hews closely to that design. Decent enough.

A truly fine DIPA with a nice color and a bit of haze. The aroma fits nicely with a citrus taste, along with a very faint nutty flavor. This beer is exceptionally smooth, with none of the bitterness associated with lesser doubles. A great beer.

Double Dry Hopped Double IPA with Citra, El Dorado and Azacca, on tap at the brewery and in can form at home. Hazy, juicy, citrusy... good, almost very good. Not quite Dancing Gnome good, but nice indeed.
