Sour ale aged in Champagne barrels with 3 brettanomyces strains, highly carbonated and finishes very dry.

until this beer came out, i had not heard of the brewery, and when they recalled some bottles for carbonation issues (i think that was the reason), i was a little saddened for these guys, and regretted missing it nevertheless, but the beer is back, and if there ever was any sort of quality issues here, there arent anymore. also, what a heck of an introduction to a brewery! this could have been made by russian river, its that good, no stretch! bright blonde beer, effervescent carbonation is obvious from the appearance, with a nice white head amassing almost an inch high with a slow fade. the flavor is awesome, champagne tannins come right through, bright light white wine, tangy and alive, but the malt is subtle, so the whole thing is insanely dry and understated, refined, as flavorful as it is. the nose is a little more tame than the taste, without the sharpness and the acidity, but i love the low ph in the finish. not as funky as others, less wood, more wine, which i think works in such a delicate beer. carbonation is as vibrant as can be, and i just cant wait to get my hands on more of this, it really is one of the best beers ive had made in colorado in a long time. truly impressive offering, a must try. the brett produces a lot of sourness in this, almost lacto feeling at times, which i suppose is a testament to its maturity, either way, job well done here.
