like the first one, this is also an excellent coffee stout. lighter in color than many with a wonderfully forward coffee complexion, bitter from the coffee only, not the dark grain, full of rich chocolate notes, and quite distinct from the other one too. this too me is a little less compelling though, dragonfly coffee rather than que coffee, not personally familiar with either, but the coffee in the first one seemed more nuanced, strong, and rich. this has less of the berries and more of a dark almost burnt profile, heavily roasted, with tobacco elements to it and even a hint of smoke, quite nice in the lighter bodied stout. the coffee is both the first thing and the last thing i taste, which i really dig, its cool how present it is at each stage. some malt sweetness here is counterbalanced by the earthy bitterness of the coffee, but it just isnt quite as dynamic as the que coffee version. still, great beer and a really cool series from these guys. its neat to see how different coffees come though the beer, and i think its a near perfect base beer for an experiment like that. well done!

On tap at the brewery. Comes black with a small tan head. I don't know what Dragonfly Ethiopian Yiragacheffe Coffee is, but it does taste good. Coffee forward stout for sure. Very nice.
