a plenty decent pale ale here, but it was easily the most generic and easily my least favorite of the beers i had here yesterday afternoon. i love this spot, such a nice surprise. this beer is more of an amber than a pale in terms of color, and does have a little grain sweetness to it more than most american pales, but its not too much. the hop profile is excellent, and its nice and frothy in terms of feel, lots of body and bubbles, drinks lighter than it looks. the red malt actually gives it a cool middle, a little more for the hops to cling to. i get dried lemon peel and fresh cut grass on the hops, but they seem a little under dosed, like maybe its too balanced to really showcase the hops. it could have been ramped up a little bit. i found it plenty drinkable, and would have gladly had a few more if they didnt have so may more interesting beers going in house. an interesting twist on an american pale ale, but the others there really spoke to me a whole lot more than this one did. probably a first base of craft beer for many visitors.
