On-draught at the brewery as part of a "carousel" (6 beer sampler) for 12 euro.
Zero head. Dark murky Amber colour.
Aroma is of Caramel(ization), bread crust, Amber malt sweetness, marshmallow, treacle, toastiness.
Taste follows the aroma, with a treacle-forward flavour profile. Shallow and reticent, lacking vivid or expressive notes. Lackluster balance. Fair cohesion.
Texture is too highly carbonated. Smooth, wet, on the low side if full-bodied, unrefreshing, thick. Slightly sticky, but not too syrupy.
Approachable for its high ABV, but ultimately an unremarkable stab at a barleywine.
