elite level stuff, far too good to have come from a little brewery nobody knows about yet, but that wont last long. this is just insane beer, improving vastly upon an already excellent base beer, the chardonnay barrels add a lot to this, mellowing the perfumy nature of the peppercorns, and adding a wonderful acidity that i think the beer needed for both refreshment and nuance. the flavors seem better integrated than before, and there is a distinct haziness to the beer thats more evident than before. head holds nicely though, and im guessing this didnt spend an exorbitant amount of time in the barrels. the wine aroma is plentiful though, and its a great pairing with the now much more mature saison yeast profile. tartness breeding tartness, with a light berry flavor coming before the white grapey tang. superbly drinkable, much lighter than its almost 8% abv seems to indicate. layers on layers here, this might be my favorite beer this far from a brewery who is yet to miss for me. so rock solid, this should win a medal this year, mark my words...
