Note: As of May 2023, this brewery has closed. Some of their beers are still being made available via contract brewing but the taproom and production facility is closed.

Cool place basically in Piedmont Park. Inside is pretty basic but the wooden deck has some spectacular views in the twilight. Beers are of course good but not great- admittedly I’m one of the few people I know who don’t love Orpheus. Lots of sours and IPAs, and thankfully they have broadened their style palate over the years. All in a decent brewery with a good location and little fuss.

Another gem tucked away next to the Belt Line. Very laid back with some really great beer. Well worth the visit.

Compared to my enjoyment of Orpheus's beers, the taproom was a bit disappointing. It is somewhat small, and does not have a bar, but rather a couple of counters selling beer, with video boards of what's available. The room is ordinarily filled with picnic tables, and has a couple of high bar-style tables. There is a small cooler with a limited selection of beers for takeaway. A very small gear counter is in another corner. Videos of (presumably) alternative music shows are playing on another wall.
Outside, There are two elevated decks overlooking the north end of Piedmont Park, and the walking trail and creek. The Saturday I was there, most of the picnic tables had been moved to the front parking lot, where there was a tent, the world's tiniest beanbag toss game, and a Mexican food truck. The crowd was relaxed, friendly, and included dogs and kids.
The beer selection was broad, with about 20 beers on tap, including a big chunk of the current barrel-aged stout series, a number of Orpheus's excellent saisons, plenty of sours, and enough IPAs to get you by.

Really enjoyed this place on a little brewery tour while in Atlanta for a night. Beers were good, service was really solid, even though we had to whisper because the Improv comics were on!!! haha, very nice overall and would happily visit here again.

I generally cross my arms and look down on breweries in the South (excluding Florida & North Carolina). These folks break the trend. Their beer is top notch, creative and varied. There's a nice variety of styles, and when I was there I was treated to a Shakespeare show. Quite an experience. Highly recommended.

Small little spot kind of hidden in the corner of a somewhat industrial looking building. The vibe is decent, not a whole lot to look at but the selection was good and we enjoyed what we had sampled there. The bartender commented on my Voodoo Brewing shirt which was cool. The service was solid here, very helpful and welcoming. I'd go back to Orpheus in the future.

It was nice visiting Orpheus Brewing for the first time. It's great to think that there is a high quality brewery tucked away like the Batcave in the heart of a major city like Atlanta.
The service was great and I enjoyed the samples.
I picked up a pair of six-packs of their Quadruple Transmigration. Fantastic. Dark Rivers await.

All beers were exactly on point. Sours were incredible! Ales and IPAs were great examples of what they should have been. Stout was great.
Nice exterior seating. Staff attentive, knowledgeable, warm, and friendly.
In a world getting saturated with options this place has staying power.
Could use some food.

Small, but inviting taproom. Big line, out the door on my visit. I was really prepared for the style change, after just leaving Sweetwater. I'd love to have more of their beers, because they really go for it on a few styles. I'd also like to go back and just enjoy a pint, because the old rules were still in place on my visit.

Only 6 beers on tap during my visit, but at least these represented a good range of beers: the beers included an imperial stout, a sour, IPA, DIPA, and a saison. With no sound damping, the concrete walled taproom is loud and reverberating, even without a crowd.
Friendly service but less knowledgeable than expected.
Biggest surprise: plenty of free parking at this urban location.

This place was odd. It is in the middle of nowhere, almost in a neighborhood. I am not sure why you would put a brewery here. Space was small and very cramped. Decent selection of probably 8-10 beers, but nothing was really good. Most were average or slightly above The vibe was off and I just did not enjoy it. It did not feel like a brewery, more like drinking beers in an office park after hours.

Stopped in on a thursday for the standard GA tour and tasting. This is a very new (May 2014) brewery with a 20 barrell system and a penchant for barrell aging. There were 8 beers on tap in the tasting room, 2 of which were unique to the brewhouse. The tour was quick and informative, and the beers were distinctly différent. Atalanta (a plum saisson), Lyric ale (saisson), the Rites (a very différent American IPA), Kerberos (Belgian Porter), the Ferryman (Imperial Stout), Brunch (described as a mimosa sour), and the Maenads #2 & #3 (the 1st a "house yeast expériment and the latter the same but a triple). I tried all but #3 and the Ferryman (as these commanded a 2 Tkt price (due to double digit ABVs), and you're only allowed 6 tkts. If you like sour and funky beers, this is the place for you. Personally, I really loved every one of the beers I tried. I think that'squite a feat,in an American craft brew market that seems to struggle with producing commercially viable sour beers (not to take anything away from New Belgiam which does quite well in this space). But to find a 20 BBL micro in ATL that seemed to nail it, was quite a pleasant surprise. The staff was genuinely friendly, the tour guide was enthusiastic, and the place was generally chill, despite the cold (both physically and estetically) industrial setting of the tasting room. I only rated the sélection factor slightly lower than I might have otherwise, because current GA laws prevented me from trying all eight, and that kept me from trying the last two beers. With my last tkt. I went for seconds on Maenads #2. Definitely a beer geek's destination. When in AtL,Make sûre you stop in.

It is very difficult to figure out how to get inside of the brewery the first time you visit. Also, the tasting room does not have A/C, only fans. You may want to take that into consideration when visiting in the summer.
I really liked seeing the souring tanks with the "magic stick" and the barrel room. It made it a little more interesting than most brewery tours. Also there is a balcony that over looks part of Piedmont park (Though it is a small off shoot of Piedmont park and is slightly shitty in comparison to the rest of Piedmont park. If the brewery reads this, you just should take over the landscaping for that part of the park and ask questions later.)

I was so happy to stop in this place on my visit to Atlanta. The selection of beer was not a big variety- saisons, IPA, and a sours, BUT all the beer was spot on. The place was a nice social scene and I definitely would return back.
