Poured at 49°F from a 500ml bottle (no date, but this is fairly fresh, less than 1 month since I bought it upon release) into a tulip.
LOOK: Pours with a half finger's worth of off-white foam that shrivels into a line after 20 seconds. Brown in color with an extreme amount of cloudiness. Rising bubbles are very small in size and very subtle in quantity. Lacing is thin and moderate.
SMELL: Strong sour green apple acidic aromas and mild oak and earthy yeast aromas are backed by subtle aromas of toasted malts, figs, and hints of caramel and alcohol.
TASTE: Strong flavors of sour green apple and earthy yeast enter initially and are immediately followed by mild oak and subtle toasted malt flabors. Subtle fig and caramel flavors along with hints of sweet coffee enter lastly as all previous flavors persist.
FEEL: Light-bodied and subtly carbonated. Goes down smooth. Finishes with a moderate dryness.
NOTE: My third beer of this style, and from what I have experienced, I would say this was pretty spot on. Kudos to New Braunfels Brewing Co. for creating a great example of this uncommon style.
