Love the concept of this place! Enjoyed the food quite a bit. Order and pickup at counter service, staff was friendly and knowledgeable about both beer and food. I have two main gripes: you have to order alcohol separately at the bar, and beer quality is mixed. Had a Biere de Garde which was excellent, and an IPA that I was tempted to send back (and I don't say that often). It had a weird aftertaste. I'd definitely come back as the food is great and the value is solid.

Unassuming from the outside (located in a strip mall for crying out loud), Mexitaly feels like a restaurant when you walk in and only starts to feel like a brewpub when you walk back to the bar, from where you can see the fermentation tanks. Our bartender was great - she happily gave us samples of whatever we wanted to try and was really friendly in a genuine way. The pizza was above average and prices were fair. Very glad to have stopped in and I could see myself going back next time I'm in the York area.

So, if you couldn't tell by the name, this is a bizarre mix of Mexican and Italian, with a brewpub thrown in! I got Mexican food, which was pretty good. Others in my party got pizza, which didn't look too appealing. Prices are reasonable for everything, and there isba substantial selection. Seven beers on tap when I went, though it appeared they might have room for one more. Growlers are available to go, though I don't know what the pricing is on them. I was skeptical of this place at first but it certainly was satisfying.

This brewpub (Brick Oven Brewhouse according to signage) is in a place that used to operate as a pizza buffet. I like how they have updated the interior and the staff is friendly with a nice selection of house made beer and food is excellent as I remember from the previous location. I tried the seafood quesadilla which was excellent and three beers -Alt, stout and IPA which were all very good. I recommend coming in -they even offer sangria to go with the italian/mexican themed menu. I like that they don't act wierd about letting you try a sample of something new.

I have been eating food at Mexitaly for years at the old location. They recently moved to a larger location due to PennDOT's plans to reconstruct the Interstate 83 Mt Rose Ave exit (several business forced to relocate or shut down).
The food here, Mexican and Italian, has always been fantastic. The quality of food continues to be superb. I recommend the Mexitaly pizza and any of the strombolis or burritos. They also make tasty vegan and vegetarian versions of anything- just ask (my vegan friends give the place 2 thumbs up)!
The move to the new location has afforded the opportunity to brew and serve beer! The beer is excellent. They have a great selection. You can also get some ciders and local wines if your entourage isn't into beer (why are you with these kind of people?).
Be patient with the food. It is all fresh and made to order. Staff is friendly, management is very accommodating. Mexitaly is kid friendly if you feel the need to bring the brood along.
Mexitaly's atmosphere is fun and eclectic. Greg just added some new art for the walls, commissioned from a local artist. The works add a nice flair to the joint.

Visited here for the first time on 2014-05-25
This is a brand new brew pub in an existing restaurant. Visited with my wife during their grand opening weekend. This is located in a strip mall at a convenient, York location. There is some excellent-looking psychedelic prints being created for the walls (see Facebook) that will enhance the atmosphere although they weren't in-place on this day.
They are using a 7-barrel brew kettle and mash tun but a 15-barrel hot liquor tank so it's an efficient, effective setup. They are putting the wort into 4 stainless steel conical fermenters and there is an in-line hop back. The fermented brews transfer to 4 bright tanks to supply the taps in the tap-room. Specialty beers are served on-tap from kegs. The owner, Greg, must have dropped some serious coin on all this fine, stainless equipment. Pumps and lines route the beers from tank-to-tank and they have clean-in-place systems. Very impressive for a small brew pub. All of the beers were very well done with no off flavors.
They do growler fills with anybody's growlers. Their own growlers are 18.8 stainless steel, double-insulated, from the FiftyFifty company, one of which I purchased and filled with their good-tasting Oatmeal Stout. I enjoyed speaking with Greg, and the brewmaster about their brewing process and we were fortunate to have a tour of the brew area.
The restaurant part of the business is long-established and features popular Mexican and Italian dishes. Vegetarian and Vegan choices are also available in these styles. Brick fired pizzas are another specialty. There is public transportation nearby.
I certainly plan on making return trips to this fine establishment. The friendly service, good food, and beer knowledge is going to make this a place to frequent for many.
