Pours a dark brown to black color with a bigger, mohagony colored, spongy head.
Smells of chocolate, smoke and dried earth among lighter licorice and toffee.
Drinks smooth and soft with an effervescent finish, featuring a well balanced, easy drinking body.
Tastes of whole grain bread dough, milk chocolate, toasted walnuts and burned malts. Offers espresso beans during mid palate with a light, fitting rock sugar note among dry earth and calming whipped cream. Finishes soft, with a lingering, malt covered sweetness and a light, short dryness.
Very well rounded, yet refreshing and complex Schwarzbier, this is well done for sure.

12oz. bottle served in a pilsner glass (thanks Rian!). Pours a mahogany hue with a translucent clarity and ruby highlights when backlit. Head is one inch, light tan and dense. Nose is somewhat dull - cereal malts, a hint of noble hops and skunk. Taste follows nose - there's a suggestion of caramel sweetness, but this beer is not at all good. Finish is watery and a bit skunky. Mouthfeel is light in body with an even carbonation and a slight acidity. Overall, I have to say that this is probably the worst schwarzbier I've ever had. Not good.
