Yields a dark brown color with a medium sized mohagony head.
Smells of dried plums, bakers chocolate, toffee and fresh baked whole grain bread among darker miso.
Has a well carbonated medium body with a decent effervescence to it, making this a fuller and thirst quenching beer at the same time.
Tastes of caramel, charred coal, toasted grains and bakers chocolate among a lingering spici- and dryness. Offers a sweet mid palate, defined by toffee and caramel, finding its balance in subtle meaty smoke and dried earth. Finishes with an uprising, balancing bitterness, gently accompanied by baking spices and a prevailing caramel peak, together with some rock sugar and sage.
Bold and unusual. This certainly heads into the territory of well made Doppelbocks. Its strong headed botanical bitterness together with the subtle spices add quite a few, likeable layers to this.
