look: 3.5 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.25 | overall: 3.25
Draft at the brewpub... Pours a slightly hazed deep dark walnut brown.. Not exactly black... Okay khaki head leaves splotchy lacing as the glass drops. Nose delivers on the name, cocoa and a peanuty element are right up front and magnified by a slight residual sweetness. Chocolate is more prevalent on the palate and the nuttiness sorta moves into the background... Again, a little sweetness raises the overall complexity.... A little tart on the finish that detracts quite a bit for the whole package unfortunately... Still pretty cool concept to try and get mostly right.
