On tap at the brewpub in Coeur d'Alene in August 2009. Couldn't put this review in with the rest of my backlog earlier, as this place was listed as closed for a period of time.
Diacetyl, diacetyl, diacetyl. Pours a light brown color with about a millimeter's worth of head with no real retention or lacing. From there on out, it only gets worse. The nose is really faint malt that's almost entirely covered up by diacetyl. The taste is buttered popcorn. The finish is buttered popcorn. Not much else to say other than that this was pretty awful though, sadly, was not the worst of the bunch I had that day.

Appearance- Dark brown body with a red/amber hue. Not much for head or lace.
Smell- The smell was very weak and hardly noticeable.
Taste- The taste was also very weak. My notes say super bland.
Mouthfeel- A very thin and watery with slightly oily feel.
Drinkability- I was not overly fond of this beer but it wasn't the worst beer ever either.

I was served a three ounce sample at the Alehouse in Moscow, ID.
A: It poured a copper/amber body with a moderate off-white head that produced an attractive lacing.
S: It generated faint aromas of sweet toasted malts and ripe dark fruits.
T: As with most beers from this brewery, the dominate flavor of toasted sweet malts was diluted. There were hints of ripe plums and raisins and a nip of hop bitterness peaked though.
M: Thin body with a clean finish.
D: This was one of the better brews sampled. However, the thin body and lack of distinguishing character would make this a beer that I would likely pass on in favor of others.

After the Lakeside cask pint this was a bit of a disappointment. The server said it was on tap as a substitute for there amber ale. Hazy amber, no head. Faint malt smell. Malt flavor typical of a Scottish ale, thankfully no heather but a bit of peat would have been nice. It was an average Scottish ale except for the appearance which was less than average. I decide to have a third pint for desert after a reasonably good lunch but it wasn't going to be another Scottish so I flipped a coin between the Vanilla Bourbon Stout and the porter. The VBS won.

Had this on-tap at Coeur d'Alene's main brewpub.
