On tap at the Steam Plant Grill. Served in a pint glass.
Appearance is a nut brown color and clear. Served with no head.
Smell is a sweet smoked candy, caramel and butterscotch aroma.
Taste is good. It has a nice coffee and caramel candy flavor, with a mild hop finish.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and clean.
A very drinkable winter ale. It's a lot like the the Lakeside British Ale but hoppier.

I was going thru my beer notes and I found my ones from when I was in Washington and Idaho over the Holidays. So that is why I am reviewing a holiday beer in August. I had to call the guys Coeur d'Alene to get some info. Cody, one of the brewers gave me some good information. First this beer is brewed every year but the recipe constantly changes. He also said that last year's batch was such a hit it will only change slightly if at all. This beer was good but at strange at the same time. It was like a Winter Warmer and IPA hybrid.
Appearance- Dark brown amber body. There was very little carbonation, lace or head.
Smell- There is a faint malt smell but whatever hops they used are the dominant aroma. There is a mildly pleasant floral bouquet.
Taste- The malt comes through more on the taste than it did on the smell. Both the hops and the malt are blended nicely and are pretty mild. The hops are still dominant.
Mouthfeel- A medium bodied beer with slightly oily feel.
Drinkability- A nice change from your average winter beer.
