Rerate, on tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Hazy orange colour, moderate white (or slightly off-white) head. Aroma and flavour like first sample.
Original rating: 330 ml bottle, from the brewery. ABV is 6.5%. Very cloudy brown colour, moderate off-white head. Pleasant aroma of fruity and resinous hops, notes of mixed tropical fruits and citrus. Distinctly hoppy flavour, as expected from an IPA. Not very sweet, but does not feel watery. Fruity and piney notes. medium bitter finish. Well balanced and pleasant. Would buy again.

Got this one at the wine guy down the road. One of two Austmann brews I picked up that day. This one and some raspberry porter or something like that.
From a bottle into a snifter
Best before July 2017
Batch no. 424
APPEARANCE: Pours a three finger, medium looking, slightly foamy white head with very good retention. Head slowly fades to a decent cap with lacing down the glass. Hazy gamboge orange with no real carbonation evident. Splotchy wisp remains until the end and leaves some decent lacing down the glass.
SMELL: Pale malts, melon, passion fruit, hay and some barnyard funk. Smells rather farmhouse to me. Some citrus notes and traces of bubble gum.
TASTE: Pale malts, some citrus, hay, barnyard flavors and some melon sweetness up front. More flavor at the swallow with a medium but lingering finish of hay, funk, citrus notes, some floral bitterness and melon sweetness as well. Quite flavorful and complex. Good example of a farmhouse IPA.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Slightly foamy on the palate, goes down fine and finishes rather dry and airy. Some bitterness lingers.
OVERALL: This is listed as an American IPA, but it's still got some funky, barnyard qualities to it. It wouldn't surprise me if the yeast involved was of the saison variety. If that's not the case, then something all wrong got into the process somewhere down the line. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt though. Either way, it's a nice brew and is rather refreshing, though be sure to think of it as more of a farmhouse ale rather than a straight-up American IPA.

Looks great with a lovely golden colour and nice lacing. The aroma and palate disappoint with a strangely sweet, artificial raspberry note going on. Good bitterness but that flavour is just wrong.
