Rerate, 330 ml can, from Meny Hundvåg. ABV is 4.5%. Cloudy straw colour, moderate white head. Moderate aroma of orange peel and coriander seeds. Citric mouthfeel. Light bodied. The flavour is medium dry with fairly distinct notes of coriander and orange peel, noticeable hops. Nice enough to drink. I'm upping the score a bit.
Original rating: Sample in the Malt & Humle tent at Gladmatfestivalen 2014, Stavanger. Like most Austmann beers, it is extremely cloudy. This brewery seems to take "unfiltered" literally, their beers appear not to be even coarse filtered. Typical witbier aroma and flavour, nothing special here. Will rerate when I get a full bottle.

The past couple of days have been an amazing CANmalgam of Goses & Pilsners, but now my supply is exhausted. I had the Duvel as kind of an oddball, but it will lead me back to some of the breweries from which I reviewed beers the last couple of days, including Transmitter, Manayunk (CANayunk), Sly Fox, Conshohocken (CANshohocken), Sloop & Great North. Following that excursion, I will be focusing on imports for a while, bringing me full circle to this one. Stay tuned. It's gonna be CANother wild ride on The CANQuest (tm)! These next three (3) were brought back for me by a local trivia teammate who travels a good bit for work. Thanks, Rod!
From the CAN: "Utpå Park & Picnic Wit"; "Utpå (oot-pawh) is a crisp wheat beer with a bite of zesty orange peel and fresh cracked coriander. This is our tribute to lazy weekends and all things summer."; "Bryggeri - 63° N".
Utpå (oot-pawh) translates to "out on" & yet the label makes me want to do anything BUT! The graphics on this painted-label CAN are tremendous!
I did some in-CAN agitation before Crack!ing open the vent. Being as it was a wee 330-ml CAN, I felt secure in CANducting an inverted Glug into my awaiting Hoegaarden glass. It foamed beautifully, creating two-plus fingers of foamy, soapy, rocky, bone-white head with very good retention. Color was a deeply-hazy/lightly-cloudy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). I really got a blast of peppery coriander on the nose. Mmm. Mouthfeel was medium-to-full, not quite creamy, but big for the style with a pleasant effervescence. Taste was spot on, stylistically! The coriander was king with orange peel as its queen and the tanginess of the wheat malt put me in mind of my late-Pops' morning Wheaties. Mmm. This was the best of the lot (the three (3) that I just reviewed), stylistically or not. This was entirely pleasant throughout, even on a record-breaking cool Spring day! If it was this good now, imagine how much better it would be in the Summer. Finish was crisp & dry, as should be expected of any beer that includes spice(s) as (an) adjunct(s). Wonderful! YMMV.

Utpa, Austmann's witbier. On draft in the Oslo airport. A $14.00 draft beer. So a high standard.
Pours golden, hazy enough not to be translucent. Aroma is very strong and nice. Wit and spice. Slight head all but gone within seconds.
Taste is spice, bit of bitter but with no astringency and no bite. (It's only 4.50%.) Pepper, coriander, banana increasing into the finish. Mouthfeel is quite good for what could drink a lot lighter. Lemon in there?
Malt is more present than other wits I've had--feels "grainier" which moves this a little closer to an IPA in my thin under-researched book. The finish has tobacco and hops which may be affecting my overall rating.
Not bad. Basically starts as a witbier and seems to finish more as an IPA.
