Copenhagen 27/12 2018. 33 cl bottle from Ølhandleren in Give. Red label presenning the beer as a “Port Wine Christmas Ale”.
Pours dark, murky amber with a big off-white head. Settles as thin layer of foam crawling up the side of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is sweet and spicy. Potent, sugary, vineous sweetness. fermented plums. Lighter spicyness - probably from the Port Wine.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, Soft texture.
Flavor is heavy sweet followed by a very moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is very sweet. Lingering.
Avoids being cloying despite a very prominent sweetness. But decidely a sipper.
