Appearance - Pours jet black with nice thick tight tan head that lasts forever. tons of lacing
Aroma - Mostly roasted malts, tobacco, leather hints of bitter chocolate and some vanilla.
Taste - great flavors, very close to the aroma. roasted malts, some charred oak, leather, tobacco aroma and flavor remind me more of a RIS than a porter. There is some hazelnut and caramel as well.
Feel - Full bodied smooth creamy feel touch of dryness.
Overall - Just a great beer, more of a RIS great flavors.

16 oz can. Guessing this is the Baltic but it tastes and looks like a stout. Not barrel aged though so it has to be the Porter.
Roasted malts. Caramel and chocolate. Some coffee.
Full bodied. Creamy.
Not bad for a stout, but definitely doesn't taste like a Baltic Porter.

Pours oil black with decent head and lacing. Body appears nice and rich.
Smells terrific for a porter, with rich roasted notes of cocoa powder and fresh coffee grounds, and the hops are lurking.
Taste follows the nose. Some charry roasted flavors of coffee and cocoa/ dark chocolate powder with the hops poking through.
Mouthfeel is full-medium, nicely carbonated, somewhat chewy, nice.
Found this single can in a local fine bottle shop. Solid porter with flavors you'd expect from one. Nothing more, nothing less.

I'm really not sure what beer these folks are talking about. I just drank some Lake Monster on Tuesday, March 8, 2016. It tastes and looks like a high-octane IPA. It's golden, a little cloudy, and super potent. Watch out! Delicious though. Think I'll get some tonight at the store by my house on the north side of San Antonio. The picture matches though.

Appearance: Deep obsidian in color, with a massive, dense tan head. The head persists rather well, and leaves an unbroken, irregular tidemark in in its wake.
Aroma: Bourbon notes utterly dominate the aroma, with notes of coffee and dark chocolate also being notable. Sweet, vinous alcohol also offers a gracious contribution.
Taste: The taste begins with with a wave of coffee and dark chocolate. Soon after, vinous alcohol notes appear, and are quite warming. Throughout, there is a moderate presence of dark roasted malt. Later in the taste, there is a mild sweetness, as of burnt caramel. An undercurrent of wood, probably oak, is notable. Finishes with a lingering bourbon flavor.
Mouth feel: Smooth, soft, very full, gracious upon the palate.
Drinkability/notes: A wonderful expression of the brewer's art, where a rare style is realized in all its grandeur. It is regrettable that Lake Monster #1 is a "one-shot". This should be a part of Oasis regular lineup, or at least brewed annually, in an appropriate season.
Presentation: Packaged in a sixteen ounce aluminum can, served in a New Belgium Brewing chalice.
