8oz glass at Beer Revolution YEG Oliver Square. I swear that I've had this one before, but it must have been in a 'frowned upon' beer reviewing environment.
This beer appears a clear, medium golden yellow colour, with one skinny finger of puffy, loosely foamy, and somewhat bubbly off-white head, which leaves some thick swaths of webbed lace around the glass as it quickly evaporates.
It smells of bready and doughy caramel malt, a lesser biscuity toffee sweetness, some muddled domestic citrus rind, and more leafy, weedy, and piney green hop bitters. The taste is gritty and grainy caramel malt, orange and red grapefruit citrus flesh, some damp minerality, and more leafy, weedy, and piney verdant hoppiness.
The carbonation is fairly benign in its bored-seeming frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and generally smooth, with nothing really getting in the way of a swell time here. It finishes off-dry, the hops starting their inevitable downward spiral.
Overall - this is a very agreeable and serviceable version of the style, nice and hoppy. Once again, I am certainly glad I don't have to head out to Camrose to sample this one. Nothing against the place, it's just that, y'know, I'm freaking lazy.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
