Poured into a 450 Brewing tulip pint glass not sure when it was brewed. Pours a very dark hazy yellow orange wth a massive 2 finger sticky white head that leaves tons of lace.

Smell is guava, apricot, mango, pine resin, and grapefruit.

Taste follows tropical front to back with a odd spicy hop flavor that is nice but unusual and I attribute it to the Eldorado hops, and some grapefruit.

Mouthfeel is about medium, mild carbonation, not dry, but sticky from the fresh hops, and drinks very easy at 7.2% ABV.

Overall this is a very nice DIPA, some nice bitterness, huge flavor, and overall a very nice beer, thanks jzeilinger for this once again.

On tap at the brewery.

A - Pours a hazy medium orange color with thick, creamy white lacing, low carbonation.

S - Very juicy tropical fruit, papaya, tangerine, citrus, and mango.

T - Juicy and resiny from start to finish, lingering tropical fruit goes on forever after the sip. Some pepper spice and pithy fruit rind, with bitter citrus on the back end.

M - Big medium body.

O - A fantastic IPA!

Slathered with fruit flavors, the intensity of hops are illuminated by Citra, Mosaic & El Dorado hops for a juicy session that has a dynamic taste, aroma and texture.

Fruity Nuggets pours with the pale golden translucence of whipped egg yolks. Taking on the radiance of branch ripe citrus, tropical and melon, the beer's aromas are tantalizing, mouthwatering and encased in tropical fruit punch and citronella. Sweet with honey, angel food cake and biscuit malt, the early taste leans malty, creamy and supple with confectioner's sweetness.

As the middle palate unfolds, layers upon layers of fruit flavors are realized. Breaming with red grapefruit, tangerine and hints of lemon, the taste is nearly teeth churning in a similar fashion as sherbet and taffy. Tropical fruit offer an exotic succulence with mango, apricot, pineapple and kiwi. Rounded with the juiciness of cantaloup and pear, the beer quickly develops a piquant bitterness of resinous pine, a fresh botanical grassy taste and a spice of dark berry and peppercorn.

Medium bodied but trending dry, spicy and bitter, the beer's juicy and creamy textures seem to favor a west coast IPA mentality to close dry and throat grippingly bitter. A beautiful display of the most foolproof hops of Citra and Mosaic are a no brainer, but the El Dorado hops give a extra grouping of hop flavors that bring a fullness and rounded fruit flavor to the hop forward palate.

A pint can from a four pack dated 08/07 that I purchased today at a local store in Valpo. Serving in a twelve ounce tulip glass.

Look- Pours a slightly cloudy brownish-gold producing a finger of soapy white foam. It settles rather quickly to a thin layer leaving moderate lacing behind.

Smell- Clementines, mangoes, pineapple and a little grapefruit. A whiff of sugary malt and spicy yeast in the back.

Taste- Orange slices, mango, grapefruit and a little passion fruit. Some floral and mild spice emerge in the finish.

Feel- Quite thin and watery but it has a pleasant carbonation level.

Overall- While it doesn't state NE style anywhere on the label, it appears and tastes like it's along those lines. It just misses the mark that would put it up there with some of the best nearby including Transient and Old Nation. Don't get me wrong, this is still a quality beer that is worth buying. The arrow is pointing up for them and I'm convinced they're going to nail the NE style soon!
