Smell: Tropical fruits burst out and attack the nose as I take my first whiff of this beer. Candied pineapple, mango, guava, papaya, there’s even a touch of coconut oil. There’s this nice vanilla yogurt note that ties in with the tropical fruits and gives off the impression of a sweet mouth watering smoothie. There’s also a touch of orange juice, along with a touch of berry and a nice dankness. The beer smells sweet, tropical, and juicy. This beer has a great nose.
Taste: Right away this beer is just dominates by galaxy on the palette, with the citra and mosaic taking a distant backseat. Upfront I’m smacked with a huge candied pineapple note that blends with this fresh naturally sweet papaya note. The beer moves into the mid palette where the tropical fruits don’t stop with the full on assault. The candied tropical note seems to amplify. Candied mango, peach rings, coconut, guava. There’s is also this nice sweet doughy bread note that just adds and amplifies the tasting experience. In the finish a quick burst of orange juice comes across but quickly dissipates into this semi dank, grassy, berry mixture that closes the beer out in this grand fashion and inserts some kind of balance to this huge tropical tasting beer.
Feel: Medium body, a nice creaminess, soft, smooth with an approachable drink ability. The beer is juicy throughout, but becomes dry pretty quickly as I sit here in between sips. This beer is really dry and would be my only really major complaint with this beer.
Overall: This beer is awesome. Super tropical with minimal bitterness. I am super impressed with my first beer from these guys. This is a top tier world class NE IPA!
