Whoever said that you can't have your cake and drink it too certainly hadn't had 450 North's strawberry shortcake beer accented by cake mix, vanilla, cream and double strawberry. Also whoever thought that alcohol establishment would have folks ordering things like slushy strawberry shortcake beers?
Slushy XL Strawberry Shortcake XL pours into the glass with a heavy pink cream coat on the glass. pouring nearly like pudding, the visual consistency and patient pull of froth is quite the spectacle. And its sweet berry scent of stewed fruit, candy stores and pastry shops carry a heavy vanilla laced scent in unapologetic fashion. Jammy sweet with its very first sip, a dense marshmallow flavor is creamy, cereal-like and plump with vanilla cream and berry pie filling.
Those cake batter flavors carry the essence of shortcake and strawberry glaze to nearly pin-point perfection, but a complement of berry tartness and citrus offer a slim reprieve from the simplicity of powdered sugar flavor. Trending tart to add a faint balance to the creamy sweetness, the late palate trends playfully tangy and slightly spicy with red wine.
Plush, pillowy and rife with sweet cream, this a very un-beer-like experience. It probably needed to be served with a spoon as its basically alcoholic slushie and not at all what most adults want when stepping up to the bar.
