450 North Brewing Co. "Slushy Supersize - Raspberry Cheesecake"
16 fl. oz. can without production codes or freshness dating
$9.50 @ Kunda Beverage, King of Prussia, PA
Notes via stream of consciousness: Labeled at 5.3% ABV. "SMOOTHIE-STYLE SOUR ALE WITH RASPBERRY, GRAHAM CRACKER & CREAM CHEESE". Murky, chunky, milkshake looking in the glass. Ruby-purple in color. no head whatsoever. The aroma is mainly vanilla but there's also a bit of berry-like fruitiness. Somehow, I think I also smell the cream cheese; it's not bad though. The flavor follows suit but now with distinct note of cream cheese. It's lightly tart but not what I'd call sour. The vanilla is softer, which is nice, and the berry comes through towards the swallow. Some brown sugar appears in the finish but the cream cheese remains and carries on, lingering to the end. It's not bitter at all but somehow it dries in the finish. This is definitely a weird beer but I like it. In the mouth it's full bodied and pulpy with a moderate carbonation level that really doesn't do much. At lest there's some acidity to give you a little zing. "...and that's all I have to say about that."

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
