Palate Contaminants: other beer
Tons of fine white head leaving plenty of lacing. Unlike a lot of similar brews, it's not totally opaque, as I can see through a few inches of liquid. Straw color.
It's a little nutty and a little orangey. I just wish it was stronger. There's a bit of onion as it warms up.
There's a really nice combination of fruit and savory. Red grapefruit is way in the back, but pineapple is there, and not all that sweet. Only slightly bitter, too. Fresh moss and wood are present. It's very savory for the style. The light malt blends with the hop-related flavors very nicely.
It's very drinkable. If the flavors were stronger, it would be one of the better IPAs I've ever had. Medium weight. Citrus is stronger in the aftertaste, with bitter orange. Carbonation could be a bit more present, but I'm wondering if that had anything to do with the pour.
