The can says "STORE COLD, DRINK FRESH" but there doesn't appear to be a date on the can or the sticker label.
Appearance: The body is opaque and has a beet red and purple color. It has a short foamy light-purple head that stands for a bit then slowly fades out to a thin ring. Very little retention and no lacing.
Aroma: It smells like a Cherry Icee you would get at a 7-11. It has a really nice candy smell but there is also this slightly artificial smell to it, once more, just like a Cherry Icee from a 7-11.
Taste: Up front there is this sweet sugary flavor like the Hubba Bubba Bubblegum Tape, which turns into a bit of cherry candy flavor in the middle. There's a bit of a dark berry flavor like mulberry and a light bit of a vinous character. There is a bit of a tootsie pop flavor as it moves across the palate. The aftertaste is sometimes cherry and sometimes this cotton candy flavor. The first half of the can has an aftertaste that is more cotton candy and the second half has more of this cherry candy flavor.
Mouthfeel: It is full bodied and sometimes medium-full depending on the sip. There is a pleasant and light tartness with just a mild bitterness which is a touch odd.
Overall: The beer has kind-of a funky sweetness with a candy cherry flavor and it smells a lot like a Cherry Icee. The can says "SMOOTHIE-STYLE SOUR ALE WITH CHERRY BERRY COTTON CANDY." It definitely tastes like cherry and it has a lot of sugary candy characteristics including cotton candy in the after taste. It is an interesting beer but the flavor really carries it. It is a little strange but it seems to work. I could drink it again in all of its strangeness. I recommend it to candy lovers.
