The can says "STORE COLD, DRINK FRESH" but there doesn't appear to be a date on the can or the sticker label.
Appearance: The body is opaque and it has a beige-orange color. The head looks strange; it starts out short and fluffy with an off-white appearance, then out of the blue it started to just bubble up into these large bubbles then quickly drop out. It looked like it would have good retention at first then all of the sudden the head was just gone. No lacing.
Aroma: It has an interesting smell of lemon pinesol and mangoes. There are hints of lime zest too. It smells really interesting and the aroma is pretty strong.
Taste: It tastes a lot like it smells. It comes through with this lemon pinesol up front which is really strong, then there is a hint of mango towards the middle. It is interesting but this lemon character is really strong. Aftertaste is lemon lime.
Mouthfeel: It is smooth and full bodied with a bit of tartness and a citrus sourness. It drinks pretty well.
Overall: It is an interesting beer with a refreshing citrus bite. The label states that this is a "SMOOTHIE-STYLE SOUR ALE WITH BANANA, GUAVA, LEMONADE, PEACH & LIME." The lemonade comes through the strongest and the lime is also very present. The other ingredients don't come through. The heavy-handed lemon flavor is likely to put some people off but otherwise it is a pretty good beer and it's worth recommending. I could drink it from time to time but the lemon character is too strong for me to want more than one.
