Whoever said that you can't have your cake and drink it too certainly hadn't had 450 North's rice cereal treat beer accented by birthday cake character. Also whoever thought that the beer lexicon would include descriptor terms like these?
Slushy XL Juicy Krispy Treat Birthday Cake pours... more like plops... into the snifter with a heavy cream coat on the glass. pouring like banana pudding, the visual consistency and patient pull of froth is nearly nauseating at first sight. And its sickly sweet scent of ice cream shops, candy stores and pastry shops carry a heavy vanilla laced scent in apologetic fashion. Cloyingly sweet with its very first sip, a thick mashmallow flavor is buttery, creamy, cereal-like and fat with vanilla cream and cream candy.
Those cake batter flavors carry the essence of birthday cake and rice krispys to nearly pin-point perfection, but a complement of banana and citrus offer a slim reprieve from the one-dimensional powdered sugar flavor. Trending tart to add a faint balance to the creamy sweetness, the late palate trends pleasantly tart and slightly warming with pina colada character.
Plush, pillowy and rife with heavy sugar additions makes this a very un-beer-like experience. It probably needed to be served with a spoon as its basically alcoholic puddin' and not at all what adults want when stepping up to the bar. Childrem may be a different story.
