Slathered with the fruits of dragon fruit, raspberry and banana, 450 North's cup certainly runneth over.
Its with a rusty mauve color and set in a dense fruit filled pour, the opaque and matte finished appearance leads to a lofty froth and a tropical scent of smoothie and tanginess. As its sweeter tone sets the pace in flavor, its grain sweetness of cereal, cake batter and banana cream that carries the malty load.
Bursting with raspberry and dragon fruit, a blend of dark berry and tropical fruit create a robust smoothie character on the middle palate. Creamy, sweet and bready heading into a tangy late palate, hints of wine cooler, spritzer and milkshake come to mind with a light hop bitterness and pectin bite that attempts to balance the fruit and sweetness.
Full bodied, tangy and fruity, its basically an alcoholic saltwater taffy disguised as a smoothie. Although delicious, the kettle soured and fruited ale is a far departure from other beer flavors. It's great for a sip, but hard to drink.
